Let's welcome our new Football Coach.......

Coach Baker was named Head Football Coach of the Hoosic Valley Indians in 2019 after his recent move from Florida to New York. His career in football began as a player in high school where he played offensive line and long snapper for Milton High School in Milton, Florida. Baker went on to play for the Jacksonville University Dolphins where he was the long snapper and tight end. During his time with JU, the Dolphins won two PFL Conference Championships.

As a coach, Baker went back to his roots, returning to Milton High School, a 6A program, as an assistant with the Freshman team. Baker’s focus was on athlete development, playing a vital role in turning consecutive 3 win seasons into an undefeated season in 2017. He moved up the ranks, quickly becoming the Offensive Coordinator of the Freshman team, as well as assisting with the Varsity Program on Friday nights. After moving to New York, Baker coached with the Watervliet Cannoneers at the varsity level as a Wide Receiver/Defensive Back coach before being named Hoosic Valley’s Head Coach.

While this will be Baker’s first year as a Head Coach, he has over 15 years of experience in the sport and is looking forward to the challenge. His mission for the Indians is to become a team made up of young men of character who play for each other and the betterment of the program. Coach Baker is married to his college sweetheart, Kara, and they have three incredible dogs.
