Eric Baker – High School, Special Education
Coach Baker joins us from sunny Florida and more recently Knickerbocker Middle School. He has extensive experience with a variety of Special Education classrooms. Coach Baker is our new football coach and looking forward to a great season.
Grace Cady – Elementary, 2nd Grade
Miss Cady is super excited to be teaching at Hoosic Valley. She has been teaching for three years and loves being in the classroom. She can’t wait to get to know everyone here at the Valley!
Marlee Eckert – Elementary, 2nd Grade
Ms. Eckert joined Hoosic Valley at the end of last school year filling in for a maternity leave. She is very excited to be back to see some familiar faces and become part of the second grade team. When she is not teaching Ms. Eckert enjoys reading, riding her bike and spending time with friends and family.
Kaylee Giordano – Elementary Physical Education
We welcome Coach Giordano from SUNY Cortland with degrees in physical education and sports management. Coach Giordano worked as a graduate assistant in the adapted physical education department while completing her Master’s degrees. She is looking forward to meeting all the elementary students and sharing her passion for health & wellness with the Hoosic Valley Community!
Kaile Kenyon – Elementary, 3rd Grade
Miss Kenyon hails from Mechanicville and is excited to join the third grade team. She is a recent graduate from the College of Saint Rose with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.
Brandee Silloway - Elementary, Kindergarten
After spending three years at Hoosic Valley at the Pre-K level, she has decided to join us full time as the new section of Kindergarten. This will be Miss Silloway’s first year with five & six year-olds. She is overjoyed to become part of our community. Outside of the classroom Miss Silloway enjoys reading, painting and spending time with her family and puppy!
Katie Riggins – Elementary, Kindergarten Special Education
Miss Riggins is super excited to join the kindergarten team at Hoosic Valley! She grew up in a small town in the Hudson Valley region before heading north to SUNY Plattsburgh for her college studies. After graduation she has been working in the area schools gaining experience and plenty of new ideas. In her free time Miss Riggins enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and cooking.
Hayley Roher – Elementary, Kindergarten Special Education
Miss Roher is excited to come to Hoosic Valley and work with our kindergartners. She is thankful for the summer literacy PD that our teachers took part of over the summer and can’t wait to bring those new ideas into the classroom. Miss Roher received her teaching degrees from SUNY Oneonta and Long Island University. She is originally from Long Island and has enjoyed working with children in a variety of settings. She enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Katherine Leach - High School, English
Katie Potts - High School, English This is Mrs. Potts 16th year teaching. Previously, she taught 13 years at Union-Endicott High School in Endicott, NY and 2 years at Warrensburg Jr/Sr High School. Ms. Potts have a BA in Liberal Studies from Bay Path College and a Master's in Secondary Education from The College of Saint Rose.
Our new staff members have joined us for a number of reasons, staff moving, retiring, changing grade levels, class size, etc.
