Radiant Peace 2018

Radiant Peace 2018
Posted on 11/24/2018
Hoosic Valley Community Partners and the Schaghticoke Entertainment Committee are honored to bring the Radiant Peace Project, a lit Christmas Tree memorial display to the Hoosic Valley Community. There will be a “field of trees”  on the lawn of the Schaghticoke Town Offices. Our wish is the radiance of these trees helps you find peace during the holidays. Community members have decorated their trees in remembrance of loved ones. Please enjoy the trees as you drive by or take a stroll through the trees. You'll find yourself smiling as you think of those remembered with these trees.

The sixth year of Radiant Peace and it has grown from forty trees to one hundred and four trees. Special thanks to Raylynn Roberts, Victoria Jarosz and Chris Smith for sharing their beautiful voices.

It's hard to put into words the emotion behind these trees and yet Trista Bugbee has done it every year with a beautiful original poem.

A Breath of Pine
       By Trista Bugbee

Take a deep breath and look around
Enjoy the silence
Let your troubles drown

Enjoy an aroma of pine in the crisp cold air
Our family and friends that once were there
Are resting peacefully somewhere near

Memories of them fill our hearts as
We carry them with us throughout the year

As these trees wave in the wind or shimmer on a dark winter night
We look to them and honor our loved ones who have already taken flight

If your tears need to flow or the laughter needs to lift
Reach out and absorb those memories
Discover peace and tranquility as they fill your mind with comfort and love

Embrace what you have and where you are,
Find serenity as you look for signs of light within the trimmings of the trees
or simply within the stars at night

As you take a deep breath and smell the sweet pine,
Hold your loved ones near and honor those that have gone before

Look to these trees and relish in a place of peace this year.
