Good Books - Make Happy Camper!
We are so excited to begin our PARP (Pick A Reading Partner) program for the 2018- 2019 school year. Our theme is
"The S'more You Read, the S'more You Know". Students will be amazed as our school transforms into Camp Read-A-Lot, where reading is tree-rific. We are asking that your child picks a special reading partner to read with, for at least
15 minutes a night for at least
5 nights/week. This can be a parent, grandparent, sibling, babysitter, pet, or even a special stuffed animal. Please mark their reading calendars in the box for that day and at the end of the week, initial or sign the calendar.
Make sure that your child returns their calendar to his/her teacher each Monday. students will be working towards earning a camping badge for each week of participation.
Our kick-off will be a short assembly on April lst to explain the program to students. The PARP program will run from April I-April 30th..
Author Visit
As part of PARP we will be having a visit from the writers of the Adirondack Kids Series! The author's will be visiting our school on April 15th. They will be presenting to all grade levels and discussing the writing process! Order forms have been sent home if students would like to buy any of the Adirondack Kids Books and have it autographed. Make sure to have your orders in by April 11th.
