Lock Down Drill

Lock Down Drill
Posted on 11/17/2018
To comply with Education Law, school districts are required to conduct a minimum of four (4) lockdown drills each school year.  There will be an announced lockdown drill in the Elementary School and the Junior-Senior High School on Friday, November 16.  In addition, there will be one (1) unannounced lockdown drill during the month of December and two (2) unannounced lockdown drills during the months of January through June in each school.

We typically include law enforcement agencies and Questar III Health and Safety personnel when we practice these important drills.  Following our safety drills we debrief with law enforcement, safety specialists and staff to analyze our procedures to ensure optimal safety.  Throughout the year, we will practice other drills to respond to all types of events.  Parents, please discuss the importance of compliance with lockdown and other safety drills with your child.

Our Safety Plan is on the District website.  Please feel free to review the plan and if you have a safety concern, please contact your school principal.  Thank you for your support and cooperation as we work to have the safest schools possible.
